DBS spesial This bike was found in SODO in the gutter just south of the liquor store on 4th ave on a dark March night. What first attracted me to it was the metal fenders. It was not until had hauled it halfway to DWI that I realized it also had a drum brake. My initial inclination was to harvest the drum brake and toss the rest of the bike. Really the only thing that needed work on was a rubbing chain guard and a new indicator chain. I am glad that I was told the parts were available. And sure enough Aaron had the part and Val showed me how to adjust it. |

The DBS, made
in Norway. Front drum brake, rear coaster brake, three-speed. SN 4194749 |
|
Single original tyre. |
|
Norwegian made drum brake. |
|
Works pretty well too. |
|
Nice "space age" chain
guard. The design makes me think this is a early 60s bike. |

Seat. I am sure in its day it
was a great one as it is still in good condition. None the less I don't
think this one will be seeing many 30 mile rides. |

|
Shifter and front drum
brake lever. Note original grips too. |
|
Head Badge if you will. |

Front Triangle. You can see the
generator wire here and at the bottom bracket. I do not see any evidence
of a generator ever being mounted. |
|
Rear tail light. Not just a reflector
but wired to the missing gen-set. |
|
Rear tail light. A bit beat up
but elegant still. |
